Imagine you are a news reporter for the Narnia TV News. How are you going to report the arrival of these strange sons of Adam and daughters of Eve? What about the White Witch, err, Queen of Narnia, how much dare you say about her

Your company wants to be the first with news and there is a bulletin in just 2 hours. The tapes need to be edited, reports gathered and scripts written.

Just like a real Newsroom there is a rehearsal and then the main live broadcast - transmitted through to the parents and those collecting the children.

The studio crew waiting to start

Narnia News is a holiday club for children ages 7-13. We set up a TV studio in your church. Various roles are assigned to the children each day. There has to be a director and an assistant director, newsreaders, reporters, film editors, camera operators, journalists and on-lookers. The children experience a different role each day.

The team then watch the rushes as they come in from the camera crew in Narnia. The same clips are provided in digital form and are edited down to make a number of 1 minute reports in conjunction with the reporters who are preparing their voice-over to their stories. Meanwhile the news-readers are writing their script and the on the spot filming are gaining eye-witness accounts. All this is overseen by the director and the assistant director.

All the equipment is operated by the children themselves and you will be amazed at how well they do. Do take a look at the broadcasts produced by a church in the north of England.

Mike helps with the editing Narnia TV is only available in a package where Mike comes to your church and leads the Holiday club. This is ideal for churches that have never run a club before. All equipment is supplied including data projection, laptops and software.

The minimum package is 5 days, but we would recommend booking a preparation day about 6 weeks before and it would also be a good idea to have Mike lead the following Sunday Service.

Other family friendly events or IT training evenings can be built into the same week transforming the club into a week of mission to families in your area.

Do also consider using it during term time. It would be easy to run the clun after school each day, probably after having given the children some tea. The advantage is that none will be away on holiday!
